ABOUT OUR TOUR

Discover one of Anchorage's hidden gems on this one-hour, half-mile walking tour of the Alaska Botanical Garden! The tour usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half, leaving plenty of time for photo opportunities and questions. The paved trail has a few benches along the way and we can stop and rest if needed. The Alaska Botanical Garden has a powerchair that is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. On the tour, you will learn about the native flora and non-native cold climate flora and the history of the Alaska Botanical Garden. The tour will include stunning blue poppies, peonies, and other cold hardy perennials depending on the season. The leisurely tour follows the paved trail through five main Garden areas and ends with a stop at the gift shop and plant nursery. This guided walking tour is the perfect way to begin or end your trip to Anchorage, Alaska. I try to tailor each tour to my guests' interests and skill levels. I want you to walk away with a new appreciation for plants and hopefully some answers to burning questions. I'm not a Master Gardener and I do not know all of the plants, but I will do my best to get all your questions answered.
