It all started with an internship in 2010

As a Junior at Alaska Pacific University, I needed to do a Junior Practicum with my major of Environmental Science. So when I happened to “rediscover” the Alaska Botanical Garden, it seemed to be a perfect fit.

During my internship I worked to compile a list of all the plants in the Wildflower Trail and in the Herb Garden, while also greeting visitors and working in the gift shop. I decided to stay on with ABG for another 6 years and have done little bit of everything-- answering the phone, running social media, membership coordination, volunteer coordination and (my favorite) giving tours. After receiving my MBA I took a job with the Municipality of Anchorage, but have remained involved with ABG as a volunteer on the Spring Conference Committee.  A desire for more flexibility in my schedule and heavier involvement with ABG inspired a change....

That’s when Brie’s Botanical Garden Tours was born! I'm now excited to offer tours with the permission of the Alaska Botanical Garden to create something that is mutually beneficial to both of us. I get my freedom and the best boss around, the best office, I get to spend my days sharing my love of ABG with other! What could be better? I look forward to connecting more people with one of Anchorage's hidden gems! I hope to see you on one of my tours or at the Garden.
